Equity workshop: Life’s A Spectrum workshop

A collaborative, co-hosted workshop on race led by Sera Bonds of Waking Giants and Heather Gallagher of Life's A Spectrum.

Waking Giants, a social impact company based in Austin, offers a range of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training and is collaborating with Heather Gallagher of Life's A Spectrum to offer this virtual training for anyone wanting to consider, explore, and commit to centering the most vulnerable in our race related work.

This is a 90 minute workshop where Waking Giants lead trainer, Sera Bonds, MPH, and Heather Gallagher will co-host to guide, challenge, support participants through a consideration of their own implicit biases that are holding them back in regards to living a more anti-racist life but may also be contributing to the harming of our most vulnerable citizens.

This month the topic selected by members of our community is the school to prison pipeline.

We believe that coming together as a community specifically to have hard conversations about complicity, supremacy, harm, and repair serves as both practice in doing better and leads us into deeper relationships with people who are as committed to this work as we are.

If you aren't able to make the zoom session please note that a recording, the homework, and a resource list based on what we cover in the session will be provided after the session via newsletter.

Ticket sales that go beyond the covering of the facilitation fees will be allocated towards reparations actions identified by the participants of the workshop, as a community.
